The first annual ladies getaway took place at TRS Yucatan in Riviera Maya and it was one to remember! From tacos by the pool to relaxing in our very own private pool, we made memories that will never be forgotten. TRS is the adults-only, upscale resort part of the Grand Palladium Complex. The other resorts connected to TRS include Grand Palladium Kantenah, Grand Palladium Colonial and the Grand Palladium White Sand. Guests staying at TRS have full access to all the amenities at those other resorts but guests staying at those resorts cannot visit TRS.
Food: 8/10
There are 6 restaurants exclusive to TRS and you have access to 14 restaurants throughout the Grand Palladium complex. There was no shortage of food to eat. Every meal was good. The churros were incredible and the tacos by the pool...they blew us away!
Drinks: 7/10
I thought the drinks were delicious! My favorite was a margarita on the rocks with tajin on the rim (it's almost always a hit!). Each restaurant also had a specialty drink each night.
Spa: N/A
I am bummed to say we didn't make it to the spa for this trip! That being said, TRS has one of the best Spa & Wellness centers in Riviera Maya and includes an amazing gym, jacuzzi, sauna and vapor baths.
Easy to access: 2/10
This part was kind of a bummer. Although it's easy to fly to Cancun from most major airports, the drive to the resort itself can be anywhere from 1.5 - 2 hours (about halfway between Tulum & Playa del Carmen). My recommendation? Pay for upgraded direct, private transfers that provide you with refreshments to make the time go faster!
Service: 8/10
The service was great! Each suite has access to a "Butler". I say that in "quotes" because it's more of a concierge who can help book restaurant reservations and will let you know about any activities. Each building has their own concierge who sits by the front entrance, and she was ALWAYS personable and smiling. This resort has 24 hour butler service
Beach: 3/10
TRS doesn't have a beach BUT you have full access to Grand Palladium white sands next door that has a reasonable beach. It's pretty small and there aren't many places to sit considering the size of the complex. Sometimes the sand in this area can be eroded but the water was a gorgeous turquoise blue MOST of the days we were there. I gave this resort a "3" because of the full access to the neighboring resorts beach.
Pools: 10/10
The pools were wonderful! The best feature of this resort is the natural saltwater lagoon that is at eyelevel with the ocean and is fed fresh salt water (even little fish). It's a great way to immerse yourself in the healing properties of the ocean without having to worry about sharks. There is also a 3 level "large" pool, a secret pool PLUS all the pools located at the other Palladium properties.
Entertainment: 10/10
There was no shortage of daily or nightly activities. While we opted to relax and pretty much do nothing but some notable activities are the Chic Cabaret show (there is an additional charge for this but previous travelers have said it's the highlight of their resort time). We did an underwater spinning class and there are additional classes such as mixology, cooking, tortilla making, pilates, yoga. The property also has mini-golf, volleyball courts, soccer fields, basketball courts and tennis courts.
Grounds: 6/10
The grounds were HUGE. As mentioned, you have access to the other 3 resorts in the Grand Palladium complex ad it was SO fun to explore. Everything was well-kept, clean and what I would state as "a bit above average". I really liked that they had a "lake" in the middle of the complex that you could take boat rides on or explore with your own personal canoe (if you have the "bungalow by the lake" room. Also notable is the on-site Cenote!
Rooms: 7/10
With a modern feel, our room was one of my favorites! We opted for an upgrade to the Jr. Suite Private Pool Gardenview and were NOT disappointed. The private pool was the perfect size and a great way to unwind and relax. There was a bit of a musty smell in the room but it didn't seem to bother us!
Overall, I was truly impressed with what this resort had to offer in terms of amenities and activities. The service food and drinks were great. This resort is a great would be a great fit if you're looking for a really good value!
