To avoid common pitfalls, here are three mistakes couples often make when planning their dream wedding away from home:
Arranging your own travel: It's temping to take on the responsibility of booking travel for yourself and your guests, but trust me, it's a headache waiting to happen. Instead, work with a destination wedding travel agent (ahem, pick us!). We'll handle all the legwork, from resort bookings to flights and even communicate with the resort on your behalf. Let your guests know to contact us for questions or bookings. This way, you can focus on your wedding without the address stress of everyone's travel arrangements. I can pretty much guarantee you won't want to be on the phone with uncle Greg when his flight is delayed and he's not sure what to do or who to contact about his transfer and that ball ends up in your court while you're trying to enjoy your rehearsal dinner.
Being a Control Freak About Activities: Since your wedding is a major event, remember that your guests are also on vacation. Allow them some free time to explore and enjoy the destination. Arrange a few group activities, but don't micromanage every moment. Let your guests have the flexibility to choose their own adventures. It's a win-win--you get to explore too! 🌴
Not having a Plan B: Outdoor weddings are beautiful, but weather can be unpredictable. Always have a backup plan in case of rain or other unforseen circumstances. Whether it's an indoor venue or a covered area, having a Plan B ensures your special day goes smoothly.
