What type of a travel agent would I be if I didn’t check out one of our most-booked resorts: Couples Negril. I’m not kidding when I say we have clients that go back year after year because they LOVE this place…and I can see why.
It definitely has more of a laid-back vibe–if you’re looking to visit somewhere with a ton of nightly entertainment and an upbeat vibe this is not the place for you. If you are looking for an incredible beach, friendly service and tons of daily activities this might be your jam.
Couples Negril is a small & charming resort located on Bloody Bay in Negril, Jamaica. With lush gardens and more of a rustic Caribbean vibe, you’ll feel relaxed and refreshed in no time. The beach is one of the best I’ve ever experienced.
One of the huge perks of this resort is all the amenities they offer. Here is a full list of what is included with your stay:

Let’s dive into the full resort ratings & reviews.
A reminder that our rating system is 1 – 10:
1 = HORRIBLE
5 = average
10 = the best possible experience ever

The dining is a supporting act rather than the headliner — and at a resort this beautiful, that’s perfectly fine. I had some really great dinners…especially the shrimp tikka masala at Lychee (mind-blowing!) but overall it was ok.
I think what this resort is lacking is snacks. Heliconia featured late night snacks BUT they weren’t spectacular…average.

One of the standout aspects of Couples Negril is the room setup — and a big part of that comes down to location and what level of beach access matters most to you.
The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, with a warm Jamaican character that feels relaxed rather than stuffy. You’ll find a spacious bathroom, a cozy bed, and a private balcony that honestly becomes your favorite spot on the property. A word of advice — if a direct ocean or beachfront view is important to you, be specific when booking.
But the real showstopper? That balcony. Every morning, I sipped my coffee watching the sun rise over the Caribbean — pure, unhurried magic. Whether you’re curling up with a book or just soaking in the salty breeze, it’s the kind of simple pleasure that makes you never want to leave.
Sorry guys. I didn’t have the chance to visit the spa this time.

Let’s talk about the beach — because honestly, it’s everything. I’ve visited a lot of beaches, some of the best in the world and this is arguably the best.
First, the size of the beach is a major win. It’s large, spacious, and never felt crowded during our stay. There were loungers everywhere, and we never had trouble finding the perfect spot to relax for the day.
The resort sits on Bloody Bay just North of 7 mile beach. Since it’s located within the bay, the water was very calm. Crystal clear. Warm. Truly a PERFECT experience. You could see all the way down to the bottom. We even spotted starfish on our first evening there.
Drinks were average. I tried a variety of drinks but ended up sticking with a glass of wine most of the time. There didn’t seem to be a ton of variety unless you’re a huge fan of rum.
The service was really great. Everyone was friendly, happy to be there and genuinely seemed happy to have us there. One MAJOR downfall was that my room wasn’t ready upon check in. I know, I know, how can I even complain when I’m in paradise like this. BUT they kept saying “20 minutes, 20 more minutes”. If they would have just said that it was going to be several hours, I would have been happier than a clam because I could have gotten in my suit and jumped in the water BUT I just assumed it would be ready in another 20 minutes. I also sent some clothes in to by dry cleaned 2 days prior to our departure, but they were not returned and at our check-out, had to search for them. Kind of a bummer. But, again, I’m a picky person when it comes to resorts.

There were lush gardens, including several ponds, throughout the resort that were really beautiful to look at. I expected there to be more flowers and for the grounds to be more “full” but I do not forget that hurricane Melissa JUST came through 6 months ago. The grounds were well kept, clean and overall good.
Giving this a lower rating because, although they had 2 pools (and 3 hot tubs) on site, they seemed like they could use a refresh. BUT, honestly, why use the pool when you have natures pool (aka the ocean) mere steps away.
